Aluminum & Wrought Iron Furniture

Being an ideal material for outdoors, aluminum and wrought iron metals tend to be the most popular types of patio furniture. Aluminum is strong yet lightweight and retains its good looks through blistering summer sun and drenching thunderstorms. Aluminum, available in both tubular or solid cast, comes in an almost limitless variety of shapes and styles. Choices include cushions for incredible comfort, quick drying sling seating - ideal around pools, lakes and oceanfront, and low maintenace vinyl strapping. Wrought iron furniture has been around for more than a century. It is wonderfully versatile, extremely stylish and heavy enough to withstand major winds. Available in handsome designs ranging from contempory to traditional, wrought iron is so strong that it frequently outlasts its owners.

Wood Furniture

With today's trend towards "natural" products, wood outdoor furniture is under going a revival. It's long lasting, ideal for a classic garden look and available in a tremendous variety of styles and types of wood. No longer limited to clunky redwood sets and splintery pressure treated spruce picnic tables, among the choices in wood are traditional porch rockers, classic garden benches, dining sets galore, relaxing adirondack chairs, multiposition chaises as well as tables of every size and shape. The cost of the finish products reflect the grade and type of wood used, the design, the hardware, the jointery, the weight and the amount and complexity of the labor involved to produce the finished product. The highest quality brands often feature mortise and tenion joints, wood dowels and brass or stainless steel hardware.

Wicker Furniture

Handcrafted wicker and rattan - sometimes natural, sometimes synthetic - is always quite special. This distinctive look adds charm and style to any setting, mixing beautifully with almost any design. Quality wicker and rattan is exceedingly durable and, with proper care, can last long enough to become important family heirlooms. All weather wicker is a special category. Using a variety of synthetic materials, this furniture can be difficult to distinquish from those made of natural reed. While designed to be used outdoors, many take advantage of synthetic wicker benefits in screened-in porches, sunrooms or even special indoor rooms simply because it's designed to last. Lowery's offers dozens of styles available by special order in an extensive selection of fabrics and finishes.

Recycled Plastic (HDPE) Furniture

Recycled Platics is a relatively new catagory in casual furniture. It is made primarily of recycled plastic bottles and containers (once destined for landfills) that are permeated with UV stabilized colors that is consistant throughout the product. This HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is milled and routered to similate the look and feel often found in traditonal wood furniture. Joints are secured using mortise and tenon joinery and edges and corners are milled on precise computer controlled machinery. The highest quality brands use marine grade stainless steel hardware to ensure superior protection when exposed to the elements. HDPE lumber offers many advantages over other materials used in outdoor furniture. It's ecologically responsible, easy to care for, and needs no painting or indoor storage.
